HEAT-MX

Advanced Thermal Engineering

Glove Application Technology

HEAT-MX™ offers multiple insulation platforms engineered specifically for gloves, combining d exterity, thermal efficiency, and advanced environmental benefits.

Temperature coverage

HEAT-MX™ glove solutions can be tuned across all four HEAT-MX™ temperature rating categories,
from everyday cold to expedition-level conditions. The final rating depends on the insulation selection, thickness and glove design.

Cold Temperature Rating (0C to -20C)

Cold

0°C to -20°C (32°F to -5°F)

Very cold temperature rating logo (-20C to -40C)

Very Cold

-20°C to -40°C (-5°F to -40°F)

Extreme Cold Temperature Rating (-40C to -60C)

Extreme Cold

-40°C to -60°C (-40°F to -75°F)

Expedition Temperature Rating (-60C to -100C)

Expedition

-60°C to -100°C (-75°F to -150°F)

Exact temperature performance depends on total glove construction (shell, lining, insulation weight, fit, etc.) and should be validated through testing.

Recommended technologies for gloves

Several HEAT-MX™ insulation platforms are commonly used for glove applications.
Each offers a different balance of dexterity, loft, protection and special features such as flame resistance.

Design guidelines for glove developers

  • Define the end use and temperature range

Decide whether your glove is for lifestyle, ski / sport, work, or expedition use, then select the target HEAT-MX™ temperature band.

  • Shortlist technologies

Use the feature comparison matrices above to select platforms that match your performance needs (dexterity, moisture control, wind / water protection, flame performance, etc.).

  • Tune thickness and construction

Use the glove TDS to choose insulation weights for each temperature band and adjust channel design, pattern and shell materials to balance warmth and grip.

  • Plan sustainability and care

In the Social & Environmental matrix, look for platforms offering Clean Recycling Initiative™, cleanly recyclable / recycled options, home-laundry care and chemical-free performance if these factors are important to your program.
